2008

Camp Ten Oaks was visited on August 20, 2008 by CTV who spent some time getting to know our campers before airing the clip below.

Ottawa's very own Capital Xtra spent a day at Camp Ten Oaks photographing our campers in action. From bunk time and speed cup stacking to round-point ping pong and jumping into the lake, photographer Paul Galipeau captured the essence of Camp Ten Oaks - all the fun that is had in a safe space where kids can be themselves.

We strive at the Ten Oaks Project to tell the stories of our children and youth. To mark the International Day Against Homophobia, the children and youth of three of our families spoke out and shared what it's like to have LGBTQ parent(s).

2007

Our 2007 Annual General Meeting celebrated many successes. Capital Xtra was there to cover some of the highlights.

Our summer camp staff volunteer, Mason McColl, brought Camp Ten Oaks to life on the pages of Trent University's Student and Community Newspaper.

2006

The Ten Oaks Project hit newsstands in Toronto with this August 2006 Xtra cover story.

Volunteers are the backbone to the success of the Ten Oaks Project. In June 2006, Capital Xtra profiled Board member Wendy Barber and her leadership role in Ten Oaks and the Ottawa community.

The Ottawa Citizen ran a two-page feature spread on Camp Ten Oaks in its Saturday August 27, 2005 edition.

The Out Traveller, writing a story on 'queer kid camps,' spent some time talking to the Ten Oaks Project.
